The bike frame for two years from date of purchase. That means that the metal structure should not fail in that time. This covers welded joints, tubing and axle carrying parts. This does not cover accidental damage, corrosion or minor chipping around axle mounts or brake mounts.
The battery is guaranteed for one year from the date of purchase. That means that the battery should charge to at least 80 percent of its capacity for 12 months. We will replace any battery that is found to be faulty a maximum of once free of charge during this period.
The computerised controller is guaranteed for two years from the date of purchase unless submerged.
The hub motor is guaranteed for two years from date of purchase.
The LCD display is guaranteed for one year from date of purchase.
We will also repair or replace, at our discretion, any bike that is 'dead on arrival' - which means that despite charging the battery before use - and after having attempted to operate the bike with advice from us, the bike fails to operate at all, or operates incorrectly. This includes any running gear faults.
Any failure or damage found on arrival with you, the customer, must be notified to us within 48 hours of receiving the delivery. As we cannot be responsible for the way in which the bike is operated, we cannot be responsible for cosmetic issues beyond the initial 48 hour period. Any repairs or parts provided will be at our discretion after this time.
Any bike returns must be agreed by us in advance. You will get a return number that must be clearly affixed to the original shipping box. Any boxes that arrive at any of our addresses without a returns number risks being being lost and potentially being disposed of and we cannot accept any responsibility for this.
The battery and motor are not guaranteed for commercial use, which generally involves much higher mileage than domestic use.
First, please make sure that you re-check tightness of assembled parts no later than two weeks (or 50km) of use after building your Velosta!
Servicing at least annually is a good idea. Any good local cycle shop can take care of this for you. The Velosta V1 is simple and easy to work on as it is to build and operate. The Shimano gearset and hydraulic brakes will be familiar to any cycle mechanic. We recommend tightening the gear control cable/derailleur (the cable sometimes stretches a tiny bit) a brake pad and disc check, tightening the axles as necessary, lubricating the chain and checking tyres for wear or damage.
Parts: Generic parts such as brake pads, tyres or cables should be available off the shelf anywhere. More specific bits such as replacement batteries or circuit boards are available from Velosta - please contact us. Any issue of free parts will be discretionary.
It is important that you understand that while we undertake to deliver a safe, functioning ebike, we cannot accept responsibility for the way in which it may be used, so we cannot accept any liability for personal injury associated with use of the bike, nor can we accept responsibility for wear and tear on the bike (which can vary widely amongst users), save for those issues highlighted in the warranty section above.
Please see our full terms of business attached to this page. Buying a bike from us signifies your agreement to these terms.
Please contact us if you wish to return your Velosta under the 15 day promise. Please see our Terms and Conditions document, downloadable below.
